Federico Scoppa

After a 6.1 earthquake hit central Italy on October 30, 2016 many monuments and churches were left unstable and dangerous. A small group of Carabinieri called TPC are working alongside firemen and art experts to save the art objects of the earthquake zone, risking they lives by entering unsafe buildings to rescue paintings, statues and other important art objects. Wooden statues from the 11th Century, painting from the 15th Century and historic bells are among the incredible objects moved to a secret depot where they are classified, restored and held safely until they can be returned to their original locations. We report on their work.
