Miguel Candela is a Spanish documentary photographer based in Hong Kong specialized in long-term contemporary projects, humanitarian and social issues from the Southern Asia region. He focuses on issues like minorities and gender discrimination, human trafficking and poverty. He also documents cultures and traditions from an anthropological perspective and reports about environmental topics. While working in the field, he has collaborated with numerous international and local NGO’s and The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) helping to develop stories. His works has been featured in Al Jazeera, The Wall Street Journal, El Pais, CNN, Asian Geographic, Spiegel, South China Morning Post, La Repubblica, Grupo Vocento, The Diplomat, Deutsche Welle, Piel de Foto, CNNGo, La voz de Galicia, among others.
