Mashid Mohadjerin is an award-winning photojournalist and visual artist currently based in Belgium, working world-wide both on-assignment and through self-initiated projects. Her works are exhibited internationally and have been published in The New York Times and Lens Blog, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, La Domenica di Repubblica, GlobalPost, de Standaard Magazine, De Volkskrant, BBC online, The Globe & Mail, MSF (Doctors Without Borders), Oxfam, Amnesty Journal, among others. Mashid received the first prize at World Press Photo 2009 in the category Contemporary Issues, other awards include the International Photography Award and Prix de La Photo. Her work was shown at the Aperture Gallery in New York, at the Wandsworth Museum in London, at the Noorderlicht Photo Festival in the Netherlands, FotoLeggendo Festival in Italy, Palm Springs Photo Festival in California, at a traveling IOM exhibition around Central Asia, and most recently at the Red Star Line Museum in Antwerp. She has lived in Brussels, Amsterdam, and New York and speaks English, Persian, Dutch, and French. She is represented by Redux for the US market.
